Eligibility to use overseas license in Australia

• Short Time visitors:

Can drive for a   period of up to 3 months but they need to confirm with Vic Roads

• Permanent visa holder/s:

Can drive with a valid overseas licence for a period of 6 months still need to confirm with Vic Roads

 Or: 

If PR visa issued in Australia, they can drive with a valid overseas licence for 6 months.

• License Conversion:

License holders need to attend Vic Roads {(depending on the country where  they come from) some nationals} need to verify their licences before they are eligible to attend the following Tests:

1. Road Law/Knowledge Test
2. Hazard Perception Test
3. Drive test

In order to be able to attend any of the above tests they need to provide Evidence of Identification including their overseas licence to Vic Roads.
